Intensifying international cooperation for the benefit of sustainable development
The year 2025, declared the "Year of International Peace and Trust", is a jubilee year both for Turkmenistan and for the UN. As is well known, in this glorious year our state of Turkmenistan celebrates the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality, while the UN, the world's largest international organization, marks the 80th anniversary of its founding. Turkmenistan is the first and only state in the world whose legal status of permanent neutrality has been recognized by the United Nations, and recognized three times at that. It is also the only country to have formally incorporated the UN General Assembly resolution into the first article of its Basic Law, enshrining it constitutionally. The day on which the resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan" was adopted with the unanimous support of the member states at the 50th session of the UN General Assembly on 12 December 1995 is widely celebrated not only as our national holiday but also throughout the world as the International Day of Neutrality. The youth forum to be organized within the framework of the international conference is also of great importance. As our Hero Arkadagly Serdar has noted: "Young people are the mainstay of the Motherland." For every country, it is an important task to raise young people with broad horizons, capable of thinking in new ways, who understand the advanced demands of the time and are able to contribute to the development of an innovation-based economy.Young people embody the strength, potential, prestige and great future of the state. The large-scale programme-based work carried out by our neutral state in providing the younger generation with a modern education, raising them in the national spirit, enhancing their creative abilities, enabling them to master their chosen professions and developing opportunities to engage in science is exemplary. The state youth policy of our country is aimed at solving important tasks and is a guarantee of supporting young people and protecting their rights and interests. At the youth forum to be held within the framework of the international conference, exchanges of views and decisions are expected on providing comprehensive support to young people, including ensuring their legal and social protection, creating favourable conditions for the harmonious development, education and employment of the younger generation, and enhancing the intellectual and creative potential of young people.
As our Hero Arkadag noted: "By holding the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries on the shores of the Caspian and organizing other cultural and humanitarian events within its framework, Turkmenistan will further strengthen the foundation of bridges of friendship among the countries of the world." The agreements to be reached and the decisions to be adopted at the international forum to be successfully held in Awaza, the abode of friendship, will further increase the importance of the modern transport and logistics system of our neutral state in the development of routes of regional and continental significance, and will give a powerful impetus to the strengthening of peace, trust and sustainable development in the world.
