2.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity generated

In the past months of this year, the electricity generated in Lebap region amounted to nearly 2.1 billion kilowatt-hours, ensuring growth of 17.7 percent compared with the corresponding period of last year.

During the years of independence, this industry has undergone fundamental transformations. In Lebap region itself, a number of modern production facilities have been successfully put into operation. These include the "Lebap" and "Watan" state power plants and the thoroughly renovated Seydi combined heat and power plant.

These facilities make a significant contribution to the successful accomplishment of the task of reliably supplying electricity not only to consumers in Turkmenistan but also to those in foreign countries.
