Daewoo begins construction of a new production facility in Turkmenabat
As reported earlier, today a ceremony to lay the foundation of a complex for the production of mineral fertilisers at the S.A. Niyazov chemical plant in Turkmenabat, Lebap region, was held with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The construction of the mineral fertiliser complex at the S.A. Niyazov chemical plant of the “Turkmenhimiya” state concern will be carried out by the Korean company Daewoo, a long-standing partner of Turkmenistan. At the ceremony, after a video presentation of the complex for the production of superphosphate and ammonium sulphate was shown, Jong Won-ju, Chairman of the Board of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd, made a speech.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the Resolution signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in May this year, the “Turkmenhimiya” state concern was authorised to conclude a contract with Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd of the Republic of Korea for the design and construction of a complex producing 350,000 tonnes of superphosphate and 100,000 tonnes of ammonium sulphate fertilisers per year at the S.A. Niyazov chemical plant in Turkmenabat. The chemical enterprise, to be equipped with advanced innovative technologies, will reliably supply the country's agricultural producers and domestic consumers with higher-quality phosphate fertilisers, the website of the “Turkmenistan” newspaper reports.
