Private entrepreneur from Koytendag expects 160 tonnes of tomatoes and bell peppers
In 2017, Rinat Irgashov, a private entrepreneur from Koytendag, built a greenhouse on 2 hectares of land allocated by the «Dostluk» farmers' association of the district and grows various kinds of vegetables. While the young farmer first started by planting high-yielding varieties of tomatoes and cucumbers, he later expanded the scope of production and also began growing aubergines and bell peppers in the greenhouse. Whereas last year more than 110 tonnes of tomatoes and bell peppers were harvested, the young people expect 160 tonnes of vegetables from the new harvest. These days, nearly 10 thousand tomato plants and 20 thousand bell pepper plants are being properly tended. They expect a yield of 10 kilograms from each tomato plant and 5-6 kilograms from each bell pepper plant, which are about to be harvested.
