Young farmer plans to deliver 80 tonnes of cotton this year

Rowshen Jumanazarov, a resident of the town of Koytendag, harvests abundant crops year after year from the 72 hectares of land he received on a 99-year lease. Last year, together with his family members, Rowshen sowed cotton on 28 hectares of his well-tended land and wheat on the same number of hectares. The cotton, which sprouted well, immediately heralded a good harvest. And so it was. Fully observing agrotechnical measures in caring for the cotton, he delivered 47 tonnes of cotton to the state collection point in the first picking. By the end of the harvesting season he managed to gather more than 21 tonnes more from the bountiful bolls. This year, too, Rowshen was among the first to successfully fulfil the tasks set for cotton deliveries to the state. The leaseholder has already delivered more than 50 tonnes of cotton to the state collection point, and the white bolls still full on the plants herald that this year’s harvest will be no smaller than last year’s. He expects more than 30 tonnes more. This year the young farmer is also tending well the wheat sown on 28 hectares. Having obtained even germination from wheat sown on time, the young farmer expects a rich harvest next year. Rowshen is also preparing the remaining part of his leased land for planting vegetables and melons.
